When the moving images, a glorious invention of the Lumiere Brothers, were projected on a screen in Watson Hotel in Bombay on 7 July 1896, it heralded a new era in the Indian sub-continent. Only a few months before, a show of the 'living photographic pictures' was held in Paris by Louis and August the Lumiere Brothers who had successfully patented the process of 'Cinematoqraphe: The Times of India in Bombay rightfully called the entire experience 'the marvel of the century: Thus, started the journey of a medium that has now become an integral part of our daily life.- Reproduced
