What does the production of space in cities of the global South entail? Through Jaitpur, an “unauthorised colony” in Delhi, this paper explores how neighbourhoods are co-produced and settled via response and retaliation. It reveals forms of settling that transcend the binaries of people-led versus planning-led processes and proposes a theoretical shift from the possibility of home to that of propertied geography.- Reproduced
