The promise of delivering a comprehensive and legislative framework through the Disaster Management (Amendment) Act, 2025 remains unfulfilled. A majority of the provisions in the Amendment Act only goes on to strengthen centralised and top-down approach and does not contain sufficient mitigation strategies to manage even modern-day climate-induced disasters or public health exigencies and pandemics like COVID-19.- Reproduced
