India and the United Kingdom share a long-standing bilateral relationship, reinforced by historical ties, democratic values, and mutual strategic interests. Both nations, as Commonwealth members, collaborate across diverse sectors including civil nuclear energy, space, defence, education, and culture. In recent years, trade has become a key pillar of engagement, with negotiations ongoing for a comprehensive free Trade Agreement (FTA). Out of 26 chapters, 19 have been concluded, with pending issues such as rules of origin, investment treaties, and intellectual property rights. High-level discussions and ministerial visits have accelerated progress. This study analyzes bilateral trade trends between 1996-1997 and 2023-2024. - Reproduced
