Even as Israel continues to violate the ceasefire after two years of genocidal war, the United Nations Security Council authorised a colonial guardianship for Gaza in the form of an external “board of peace” for transitional administration, and conditioned any movement towards Palestinian statehood until the time Palestinian Authority undertakes “reforms” as outlined in the “Saudi-French proposal.” This article critically analyses this proposal and highlights how it actually represents while envisaging a demilitarised “state” without sovereignty, an insidious attempt aimed at permanently erasing the Palestinians’ right. – Reproduced
