Comparatives have been paying increasing attention to transitional justice (TJ) programs, by which, after a regime transition or in post conflict situations, wrongdoers may be tried and punished or amnestied, cities compensated, and truth telling measures implanted. A burgeoning literature has forced on the consequences of TJ polices on the legitimacy of new democratic regimes.
