Huque, Ahmed Shafiqul
The framework of regulation and the operation of non-governmental organisations in Bangladesh - 2002 - p.61-75. - Jan-Mar
NGOs in Bangladesh have demonstrated that they are capable of development by training, organising and guiding the people. But the regulatory mechanisms have been brought in by the government to check malpractices and fraudulent activities committed by some organisations. The author lays bare the plethora of restrictions and regulation imposed on their working and how it has forced NGOs spend more time in complying with formalities rather than developing and implementing projects. He calls for a careful and balanced approach to these regulations. - Reproduced.
