Contract farming: an overview - 2005 - p.42-43. - Apr

Contract farming is a new model and would be a entirely new experience. The factors determining success of such a model vis-a-vis other models would depend, among others on type of crop, intensity of technology, length of value chain, and the stage of market evolution. Needless to say, value-based corporate involvement would bring to agriculture all the capabilities of good business practices. The future landmarks would be ISI certification and organic agriculture practices towards developing international markets for local produce. - Reproduced.
