Role of common man in urban planning: The case of old Delhi - 2011 - p.116-151. - Jan-Mar

By the end of the 20th Century, urbanisation process has reached warning signs due to uncontrolled and unplanned urban expansion. As a result, urban planning has emerged as the practical solution of the haphazard urban growth. It demands on increased public participation ensuring sustainable planning process. This article summarizes the efforts taken up by various countries to formulate plans that involve local people in the decision making process, especially where the plan makes direct impact on them.
