Welcoming the National Housing Policy, the author says that good policies alone will not ensure good results. There is need to improve the delivery system for rural housing and the housing policy should be reviewed periodically to tackle effectively the problem of shortage of dwelling units. The involvement of NGOs would lead to innovations in rural housing schemes.
