The author empirically takes a close look on implementation of Adult Education Programme (AEP) and the administrative organisation of the three agencies - Directorate of Adult Education, UGC sponsored Osmania University's Centre, and a women's NGO - involved in AEP in Andhra Pradesh. She makes a comparative assessment of the contribution of each agency to the success or failure of the programme in view of diverse backgrounds, highlighting in the process each agency's relative advantages and disadvantages. Deriving conclusions from her study, she underscores what further needs to be done to attain the desired goal of the AEP in the state. - Reproduced |
