It is one's experience that resources, competency, technology and whatever else contributes to productivity, cannot produce results by themselves. Conventional productivity literature has recognized the importance of human capital investment. However, whereas human capital has been widely believed to be a key factor contributing to economic development, the precise nature of its contribution is often unclear. If market failures are often caused due to external conditionalities, the inner world needs to be explored in human beings to discover new parameters of innovation in specific areas, to cope with such disasters. Therefore, what is required is creating a supportive and encouraging environment. Productivity and HRM nexus would require the need to enable well-formed individuals developing and performing in an organization. While looking at the human factors in productivity, it is important to remind oneself that there are significant processes and structural issues that contribute to aggravating or alleviating the situation. - Reproduced |
