This paper provides a critical review of neo-Marxist theories (dependency and structuralist schools) so far as these two theories are relevant to developing countries. The review brings out a number of strengths and weaknesses of the two schools. The influence of these two schools have declined dramatically in recent years even though these theories have enriched our understanding of the development process to a great extent. - Reproduced |
