520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc 17th Parliament election results in the state of Tamil Nadu have once again proved that the hegemony of Dravidian Party, the DMK and the national parties such as the BJP and Congress will have to depend heavily on the support of either the DMK or ALADMK to secure decent votes in the parliament election. The election results explicitly show that the electorates in the state have shown scant respect for national issues and they were much concerned about local issues such as water crisis, agricultural issues, unemployment or any other issues which will affect the livelihood of the people. The verdict of the 17the Parliament election indicated that the national parties, the Congress and BJP, should understand the sentiments of the state people and try to address the local peoples’ issues in the state of Tamil Nadu, then only they can expand their base in the Dravidian soil. - Reproduced
