Summary, etc. Collaborative Research is gaining popularity among universities as well as the industry. It is widely believed to be the way of the future. As business issues become increasingly complex, no one entity will have either the technical skills or sometimes even the technological and financial resources to operate alone. Collaboration can be among any group of entities - from within an industry or between industry and universities or between organizations in complementary industries. Each participant brings their own unique strengths to the venture and the result is a faster more efficient and better solution than otherwise. In this paper, the authors discuss the varius facets of Collaborative Research including the factors that have supported collaboration, barriers that need to be takencognizance of and issues in its implementation. Emerging technological trends that will have the way for future growth in collaborative research efforts have also been discussed. - Reproduced.
