520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc Women’s share in power structure of a country has been found inadequate in the world. Though women’s share has increased globally in last two decades, yet there is diversity across countries in governance and including equal access of women to leadership roles. It is imperative to examine that as to how much India, being the strongest nation in South Asia region, has been gender sensitive in comparison to neighbouring nations like Pakistan and Bangladesh. The public administration is an important employer in many countries and with the equal participation of women in public administration can have a significant impact on women’s economic empowerment. Concrete steps should be taken within public administration to attract, retain and promote women into leadership and decision-making positions and to transform the organizational culture of public administration in general, as well as in the different ministries and agencies. Thus it is suggestible that state and its agencies must therefore build concrete gender action plans that not only change policies and processes, such as staffing and human resources, but also alter mind sets and institutional cultures.- Reproduced
