Since detection of the first infected case in the end of January 2020 in Kerala, the Novel Corona Virus have had a relentless spread throughout India, first attacking the economically more active globalized parts and the metropolitan cities, then fanning out to the hinterland regions and rural areas. Although the curve of incidence of COVID infections has finally shown an indication of bending downward, apprehension is rife that in the autumn festival season and the winter fog that will follow may give the virus an opportunity to resurge. – Reproduced |
