The development in the peri-urban areas is characterised by conversion from agricultural land to other land uses. The upcoming new development in the peri-urban results in various changes in socio-economic and physical characteristics. Punjab Urban Planning & Development Authority (PUDA) approved planned, regularised, and unplanned/ unauthorised residential developments in the peri-urban area of the Amritsar metropolis are appraised to assess the level of satisfaction of residents about the basic amenities available within it. – Reproduced
