| Summary, etc |
It is an established truth that education plays an important role in the human resource development which in turn contributes substantially for the developments in all sectors of the economy and country. This is true even in the case of India and therefore, the governments, both the central and state governments, have taken many initiatives to establish educational institutions such as primary and secondary schools, colleges, universities, research centres, etc. Besides, they have also encouraged the private players to establish and run the educational institutions. As a result of these initiatives and efforts, there has been a remarkable increase in the number of educational institutions, students, teachers, etc., during the postIndependence era. This is commendable if one considers the constrictions in which the country is functioning. Of course, these achievements are not adequate if one considers the demand for educational services. – Reproduced |
