The present paper attempts to measure the performance of thermal power plants in India in post restructuring period from 2003-04 to 2017-18 with two outputs and six input variables. The study revealed that the growth of thermal power generation lagged behind the growth of installed thermal capacity which points toward certain inherent inefficiencies in thermal power plants. – Reproduced |
