Summary, etc In the modern era, along with the development of new technologies, the ways of working and interacting are evolving, as the internet has emerged as a basic need. One such empire where plenty of work is done through the internet is known as cyber space. Cyber space is a dynamic platform where advancement occurs over time. New network technologies are provided in cyberspace that benefits the people and promises to be completely safe and reliable. People must have confidence that their data is safe and secure while working online. The flow of information on a large scale, the safety and confidentiality of data, and the connectivity in many networks are important for the modernization, economic prosperity, and security of the nation. Internet is considered the best medium of communication and it is definitely connected to almost all the practical fields of mankind. New wireless technologies are developing day by day and digitalization is being encouraged. It is a dark side of the coin, that enormous flexibility in cyberspace is providing more opportunities for criminals also and they are getting motivated towards cybercrimes. Victims are easily available for these cyber criminals as online responses grow. Increasing cases of cybercrimes have emerged as a matter of global security. Considering the serious nature and ill effects of cybercrimes, there is a need for effective adoption of cyber security norms, along with their understanding at the global level. At present, cyber security is the topmost threat to mankind and organizations. In the present paper, the authors have made an attempt to explain the concept of cybercrime and cyber security so that possible preventive techniques can be adopted to reduce cyber security threats.- Reproduced
