Summary, etc It is a well-researched and widely accepted fact that Police personnel work in extreme conditions and are highly stressed leading to physical and psychological ailments. Although numerous study publications have suggested various approaches, little has been done or accomplished, and the men in uniform continue to work in the same manner, leading to stress and burnout as well as detrimental mental and physical health consequences. There is not much room for improvement when it comes to the nature of the work or the inherent stress, the outside world, how people see things, the media, etc. To ensure the psychological wellbeing of the men and women in uniform, various efficient organisational or internal procedures may prove helpful. The paper makes some suggestions for non-clinical psychological interventions at the organisational level, such as mindful leadership, supportive leadership, behavioural flexibility, and engaging in acts of compassion and empathy, which may help to ensure psychological wellness and, ultimately, effective policing and officer wellbeing. A Model has been suggested by the authors for the same. Given that there is minimal room for control over the external environment, the study makes an effort to shed some light on improving the internal working environment. Reproduced
