The study focus on the cost of cultivation and returns from major crops cultivated in Punjab. Machine and human labour are found to be the major components of the cultivation cost in the state for various crops. In terms overturns, paddy in Kharif and wheat in Rabi season are the most profitable crops, while maize and rapeseed and mustard are the least profitable crops. So there is need to farm we police to increase the profitability of these crops as it will help in diversifying the Punjab agriculture from paddy and wheat monoculture. Reproduced
