520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc The present paper explores police social work practice in India. It reviews traditional welfare approach of social work profession and contemporary rights based approach to police setting. Experiences and studies indicate that police often face an allegation of violation of human rights while dealing with people in conflict with law. As a matter of fact, it undermines inhumane working and living conditions of police personnel at cutting edge level. Hence, the paper argues that human rights articulated in the UDHR provides space for police social work advocacy for dimensions of human rights in India.- Reproduced
