Summary, etc This study examines the relationship between women’s empowerment and economic growth, utilising data from the National Family Health Surveys spanning from 2006 to 2021. Our findings reveal: (i) a positive influence on economic empowerment but a more subdued, if not negative, effect on women’s agency; (ii) significant but minor associations of state gross domestic product with all women’s empowerment indicators; (iii) economic empowerment factors such as bank account ownership and employment demonstrate the highest responsiveness to gross domestic product. Visual inspections show that the predictive capacity and association of economic growth on women’s empowerment decreases with rising SGDP at individual and ecological levels, respectively.- Reproduced
