Up until the 1960s the term 'development' lacked a specific meaning. It was in the Year 1987 and 1992 that the phrase 'sustainable development' gained prominence. Over time, the broader goals of 'social justice, the rational use of environment, or human well-being' were discussed as being essential. While India's Vision of the SDGs is comprehensive and aspirational, the current national and international context demands ad additional focus on human wee- being. This research paper undertakes a theoretical and analytical research design, based on secondary data, to look at the possibility of reconciling Sustainable Development with Human well- being and analysis the Trajectory of India's SDG Vision in this direction.
