Summary, etc India, the nation has built on the basis of ' salad bowl theorization' it has always been a land of fascinating ethno-cultural blend. Some scholars have opined that the old coinage of India versus Bharat is one of the familiar constructions about the heterogeneity of time and space. Some refer to the perfect coexistence of tradition and modernity in India. However, different scholars and academicians have tried to capture this dual nature of India in term of policies pursued by State. The renowned scholar Prof. Partha Chatterjee in his book " Politics of the Governed" has thoroughly discussed about the creation of nexus between the ruling government and the particular ethno- cultural group in India, and how different ethnos cultural practices groom, enhance and develop within the room of that particular nexus. On the basis of the above theoretical framework the present study tries to examine the ethnos healing practices of Gorkha Community of Darjeeling Hills with special reference to the politics of identity in the small Himalayan region of Darjeeling. Both primary and secondary data have been used to complete the project. - Reproduced
