| Summary, etc | Most poverty estimates based on household consumption surveys assume equal distribution of resources among household members. The paper relaxed this assumption by using household expenditure data on privately assignable items—specifically, clothing—to estimate resources allocated to children (0–14 years), adult females, and adult males (15–79 years). We then compute group-specific poverty rates and poverty gaps for each demographic, capturing intra-household disparities.
