| Summary, etc | The Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) index introduced by the World Bank has long been considered a benchmark for evaluating a country’s regulatory environment across parameters such as starting a business, construction permits, tax compliance and contract enforcement. India has made substantial improvements in these rankings over the past decade. However, in 2021, the World Bank discontinued the EoDB rankings due to concerns over data irregularities. Nevertheless, the underlying indicators remain highly relevant, as they continue to guide domestic reform strategies, state-level competitiveness and investor perception.-Reproduced https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/00195561251367633 |
