The nature of India’s education system has historically been extendedly diverse and multi layered with its roots tracing back to ancient traditions of Gurnkuls and universities such as Nalanda, Takshashla, and Vikramshla, etc spreading knowledge across India and beyond. In the medieval ear, Modrasar and Makatabs played their role, while during the colonial period, the English education system, under Macaulay’s polices, laid the foundation for modern methods and fretworks, which later gave rise to intuitions like the Universities grants commission (UGC) and other regulatory bodes. – Reproduced |
