Summary, etc Private coaching at the school level in India is examined, using evidence from the National Sample Survey Office’s Comprehensive Modular Survey: Education, 2025. Analysing the prevalence of private coaching and household expenditure on private coaching and on total education, it is observed that private coaching has grown and become widespread, producing certain ill effects on school education. This has important policy implications for school education. – Reproduced
