The state-labour relations in Mexico since the regime transition of 2000 may be conceptualised as being determined by a clientele relations between the new regime and the leaders of labour unions. Lacking a long-term sustainability and harmony, the new pattern seems to be unstable and subject to important transformations. Here is an analyses of the institutional context of the relations between state and the organised labour after the recent political changes in that country. It is suggested that the strategic reforms in the labour laws may pave the way towards consolidation of Mexico's procedural democracy. - Reproduced. |
