While official statistics has seen an increasing demand in recent years, limitations in such data may not be exactly obvious to data users. Methodological and other details are not widely disseminated by primary compiling agencies and other data providers. There is a pressing need to revive the erstwhile special publications compiled by certain organisations that mention the various details necessary to provide objectivity to any data. The importance of such publications cannot be emphasised enough at a time when new types of data are constantly being required to describe and understand emerging trends. - Reproduced. |
