Summary, etc. This paper reflects on the changing profile of imperalism in the post-cold war world. It begins by underscoring the significance of a triangular relationship between capitalism, globalisation and imperialism. Then it proceeds to explore and analyse the relationship between hegemony and imperalism. Finally, while illustrating the modus operandi of imperialism, it sheds light on the politics of imperialism in select African states that are endowed with rich oil reserves. It also contends that the notion of political order cannot be perceived in a static sense because order for some set of countries can imply disorder for others. - Reproduced.
