In this article Dr. Pawan Singh describes a public private partnership project undertaken in the power sector. He describes the main features of the project and the reasons for going in for a PPP. He also elaborates on the difficulties in raising project finance and the risk perceptions of the lenders. The risk mitigation strategies subsequently adopted are explained and he makes out a strong case for allaying the fears of lenders whenever undertaking such a project. - Reproduced. |
