Summary, etc. Our constitution as basically erected on the foundation of the government of India Act 1935, which involves to examine the power between the centre and states. The objective of the government of India act 1935 was to establish a government of Federal Structure with the strong centre. In a Federal System, Sovereignty or political power is divided between the Centre and the States. So that each of them within its own sphere is independent of each other. Both the Centre and the States derive their powers from the same source, that is, constitution. - Reproduced.
