The judiciary is in fact the backbone of India's Right to Information Act. It was vehemently supporting the principles of transparency and accountability. Eminent judges were vociferous in seeking freedom of information and disclosure of records under the custody of the public authorities. Raj Narain and S.B. However, the controversial statements in the later days about the assets of judges have created serious doubts in the minds of the people about validity and workability of access laws.
