Governance is that separate process or certain part of management or leadership processes that makes decisions that define expectations, grant power or verify performance. In a developing country like India, governance concerns necessarily have a wider ambit. The recognition that it takes place in domains other than that of exclusively formal institutionalised political and administrative structures means that governance concerns encompass a variety of spheres. The Government of India has paid special attention to governance reforms.
