Discourse theory and post-modernism stressing the need for enhanced public dialogue reinforce the position of citizen as central in the whole scheme of things. This article is an attempt to furnish a review of recent and relevant developments in the field of governance and public administration with major emphasis on New Public Service and Collaborative Public Management, which advocate citizenship and collaboration for upholding citizens rights and ensuring better services.
