Indian Journal of Public AdministrationSummary: After a broad survey of conceptual issues on the theme as have emerged in the West since Max Weber,the authors focuses on the important findings of an Indian(Meerut)emprical study, done in the series, to identify the deterioration in the relationship that has come about over the years. Thus relating the issues, they discuss in detail the contemporary features of the relationship operating in the country to draw conclusions (with some empirical inputs) and list some remedial measures. They also append a list of cases on the theme for researchers to study them. - Reproduced.
