Besides facilitating clarification of the concept of `speedy justice' by analysing its evolution and relevance, he incorporates in the discussion suggestions, guidelines and recommendations given by the Supreme Court of India, Law Commission, and several Committees constituted for the purpose, along with the story of the development and improvement of the new Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and amendments thereto. - Reproduced
