Material type: materialTypeLabelBookPublisher: 2018Description: p.29-39.Subject(s): Capacity building - India - Haryana In: NagarlokSummary: This paper seeks to explore the extent to which the RTI regime has been institutionalized in the urban segments of Nuh district of Haryana by administering an interview schedule to the information providers of four key departments. The information gathered through these has been cross-checked through participatory observation. It has been informed that the information providers are lacking in culture of transparency and also lack the needed competence to perform their role. This, however, cannot be ascribed to the backwardness of the district. Hence, it has been suggested that training programmes should be organized for their capacity building and orientation programmes be held for changing their mindset. - Reproduced.
