The pollution control boards are ground level agencies to implement the polices and ensure the environment impact assessment (EIA). Now the question is are the pollution control boards functioning at the desired level? Further do we need more such bodies? As such the present paper intends to examine the structure and functions of the pollution control boards and maladies therein. – Reproduced
