E-governance in India: An overview

Global E-governance survey 2020, published by the department of economic and social welfare, United National on July 10, 2020, highlights several sociology-economic dimensions of e-governance programme apart from COVID-19 impact. The survey 2020 places India at very high e-participation index level and high under the whole e-government development index (EGDI) rank among 192 countries. During the recent years, digital platform gained a huge attention worldwide. In the period of pandemic COVID-19, it has been proven as a mode of survival for everyone, right from the direct benefit transfer (DBT) to implementation many of schemes and even inviting donation. The pandemic has proved to be an opportunity for facilitating the imprint contribution and role of e-platform. The e-governance is gaining due attention and government of India takes may reforms to promote e-governance prgoramme at the national level as well as at the provincial level. In the context, this article focuses on the different aspects of e-governance programme in India. – Reproduced
