Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are based on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) form a cohesive and integrated package of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. The SDGs were set up in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and are intended to be achieved by the year 2030. Building on the accomplishments of their predecessors the MDGs the SDGs address the most pressing global challenges of our time, calling upon collaborative partnerships across and between countries to balance the three dimensions of sustainable development, economic growth, environmental sustainability, and social inclusion (The United Nations, 2015). – Reproduced
