By: Iyer, Meera.
Material type: materialTypeLabelBookPublisher: Seminar Description: 750, Feb, 2022: p.41-45.Subject(s): Heritage, Non-monumentality In: SeminarSummary: IS an old oilmill heritage? A few years ago, on one of our heritage walks, we meandered with an enthusiastic group through the neighbourhood of Ulsoor in Bengaluru and happened upon a poky little oilmill. This was not an upmarket oil press that sells cold-pressed oils to health conscious people. This was a place where people from the surrounding neighbourhood walked in every month or so with cloth bags full of dried coconuts and other oilseeds and walked out with freshly pressed oil. It was a routine they had been following for as long as they could remember. – Reproduced
