The application of technology has always been a gamechanger. The history of civilisation can be summarised with the adaptation of changing technology. Techno-savvy nations always led the world and expanded their culture beyond their geographical boundaries. The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Revolution is the latest technological tool. It has rapidly changed the whole scenario—economic, trade or commerce, social and political. Undoubtedly, it has a revolutionary impact. The application of ICT has changed the mode of production and distribution and has helped to create a global market through e-business. The relations of production have also undergone a change. The political milieu, the functioning of political institutions, the decision-making process and the governance, in short, the relationship of governors and governed, is also witnessing tremendous change. In this article, an attempt has been made to analyse the impact of ICT on fostering effective governance. – Reproduced
