The issue of water manifests the basic human rights at every international legal instrument. But, the right of water and its accessibility can’t be studied in isolation, there are different aspects like sanitation, cleanliness and water preservation also needs to be strengthened in an efficient manner. The substantial rise in inequitable distribution of water resources and contamination of water leads to crisis in the sustenance of clean water. It is important to comprehend whether existing framework associated with right of water and water conservation consider water as economic good. The issue of economic sustainability is significant for water governance through which matter of wastage and contamination of water can be addressed. It is also important to understand the importance of socio-legal awareness towards water harvesting and water conservation strategy along with capacity building programs for different stakeholders in the society. – Reproduced
