By: Srivastava, Sushmita and Shyam K.C.
Material type: materialTypeLabelBookPublisher: Indian Journal of Training and Development Description: 52(1), Jan-Mar, 2022: p.69-76.Subject(s): Technology integration, Digitalisation, Digital transformation In: Indian Journal of Training and DevelopmentSummary: With the impact of Covid-19 and faster digital adoption, reverse mentoring is gaining momentum. Technological advances are changing quicker, and experience may not provide answers to new-age problems. Further, technology has collapsed the time and space between mentors and mentees, allowing for relationships that are not geographically bound. There is an ever-growing need to know what’s changing in the environment and learn from peers. Covid-19 had made many organisations embrace and accept technology in their everyday practices. Wherever employees have distanced from technological developments and trends, organisational communication, decision making, and overall advancement have become an impediment to the faster growth of the organisations. Reverse Mentoring (RM) is a critical strategic lever that accelerates digital learning needed for technology integration and digital transformation. This transformation generates the need for competence development, including skilling and up skilling (Leopold, et al.,2018). The purpose of this paper is to provide a framework for the companies to adopt reverse mentoring practices in their organisational approach towards employee empowerment and the development of competencies required for the digital future. – Reproduced https://www.istd.in/files/journals/IJTD-2022-Jan-Mar.pdf
