India is set contribute to the globally rising youth pupation with an ever-growing population of 472 million children (census, 2011), and is estimated to add about one-fifth of the incremental youth population in the next two decades (Mukherjee, et al, 2023). India is poised to significantly contribute to the global rise in youth population, with a current population of 472 million children, as per the 2011 census. Over the next two decades, the country is projected to account for approximately one-fifth of the incremental global youth population, according to Mukherjee et al., 2023. This demographic trend offers immense potential for economic growth, innovation, and workforce development. However, it also presents challenges, such as ensuring access to quality education, healthcare, and employment opportunities for the burgeoning youth. Strategic planning and investments are crucial to harness this demographic dividend. With the right policies and initiatives, India can empower its youth and strengthen its role on the global stage. Addressing socio-economic disparities and fostering inclusivity will be key to realizing this potential. – Reproduced
